Well,...I do listen to some japanese metal/hardcore bands...
Sabbat, Metalucifer. S.O.B....but to me they are all phonetic and work on my sense of humor.
Always when i listen to a japanese band, i get this feeling,....laughing my ass off, never taking it serious...
Being a country with no humour, and producing the most funny bands in the world.....its an achievement isnt it??

Does anyone here take a japanese band for serious,....? For the clones they are?

I know what you mean about "phonetic" but I only find the music to be comedic. I'm very open to non-english singing.

Now, I said this before... Sigh is pure comedy at best. it's amazing to me how people take them so seriously.

Japanese people are the most die-hard maniacs in the Universe both in punk and metal scenes.

If you have a hard time taking them seriously because of their Engrish, you're an idiot.

i understand your point,..but as I said, those bands overthere just inspire my laughing muscles Smile , they're funny, but never evil or dark.

Well, stop listening to Sabbat and get into GISM then? Wink

I mean, I get your point and I'd like to believe it's more or less cultural. I'd also have a hard time taking a Japanese guy telling me he worships Satan seriously.

Japanese hardcore bands are the most over-the-top/intense live bands though.

I take is as seriously as any good heavy metal about wizards, motorcycles and Satan, which most of the Japanese bands I listen to fall under. I don't get this mentality that heavy metal can't be over the top and tongue and cheek anymore.
