We all know the story of bands we love, and suddenly they went mainstream or got a polished sweet production,...mostly it sucks,...but, we all know certain albums we still like despite of that.
For me its Barathrum - Saatana,...not their best, but i like it a lot !

What are yours?

Some of the Death Metal bands from the Floridian scene, I guess. Brutality, Malevolent Creation, Monstrosity and such.

True! I guess the production fits the updated sound, and vice versa. I never heard the re-recordings LP they put out around the same time but I don't think I want to hear the primitive sound of old Amebix with big slick sounding production...

^ This. Too bad the keyboard tone wasn't as creepy as the demo recordings tho.

That Hell was really damn good.

So was the latest Oz album. It was a lot more polished than their earlier works, but it worked.

Way better than the first album, and the production is absolutely perfect.

The last two Asphyx albums sounded pretty damn good to me despite the polish.

Not kidding. With this album DB delivered their best traits and even though i see often people praising For All Tid and Stormblåst, this era beats those old albums easily.
