Not going to get many votes to back this but The Book is where they peaked. |

Everything from Hell Symphony to Madness Of The Graves. The vocals have been quite revered but sometimes they seem to come across as amateurish and annoying, Blackie's songwriting is what made the band what it is for me anyway.
For an extreme test of endurance, try listening to the most gut wrenchingly annoying "...Before I Leave!" from start to finish. I dare you. I fucking double dare you.
There's an unsung side project called Cales, which is awesome! Or was, I think it went down the shitter too eventually. Now this project was plagued by a sub-par vocalist as well, but once again, the songs were too good to be ruined just for that reason alone.

| Equirhodont is also quite enjoyable! I also think that Root peaked with "The Book". Such an amazing album... |

Zjevení and Hell Symphony are both great albums, easily the band's best.
Temple in the Underworld has a few fantastic tracks as well, but also some really weird ones.
The vocals can get a bit annoying on the later albums, but I wouldn't say any of their albums are bad. _________________

| Overall / most solid album for me is Hell Symphony, but the highlights of Temple in the Underworld are my favorite Root stuff ever. |

Both old and new Root are great (I've only heard up to Black Seal); Equirhodont on the other hand is not as enjoyable as you'd think. _________________ Listen to Countess. |

| Root are much appreciated here! But I do agree that while Big Boss is great, it's Blackie that really put them over the top. Zjeveni through Madness of the Graves all get semi-regular play. |
