| Carpathian Wolves, couldn't decide between that one and Celtic Winter though. I like ALL of their/his releases, including non BM era, Creed of Steel fucing rules. Best Polish band by far. Hail Rob Darken! |

Some don't seem to know how to use search... I'm sure this is about the fifth thread asking this same again.
Thousand Swords for sure anyways. Everything between In the Glare and Immortal Pride is pure classic polish black metal. Recent works are good good as well... _________________

Following the Voice of Blood!
First CD of theirs I ever heard, bought solely on a whim after a living Samoth tribute warned me that listening to Graveland caused people to go insane and murder black people. He was also afraid of Infernus _________________

"Drunemeton" and "In the Glare of Burning Churches" are absolutely great demos. Unmatched rawness and barbarism.
"Carpathian Wolves" for the eerie synths. Probably the best album, so this one gets my vote.
"Following the Voice of Blood" for the galloping drums (Capricornus somehow made a quantum leap in his skills there).
And "Creed of Iron" for the massive wall of sound, like the marching phalanx on the cover. |

| No In the Glare? Cant vote then haha. To speak the truth, i'm not very familiar with post Celtic Winter records, though i like some songs from newer albums too. In The Glare is one of the few records for me which define black metal. If i had to introduce black metal for somebody whos never listened metal before, In The Glare would be the record i'd play. Sloppy drums, raw vocals and gloomy keyboards. Truly magnificent! |

Gross exaggeration. Their best moment (The Celtic Winter that is) doesn't hold a candle to Norway/Sweden's finest albums. They're ok in their own cheesy way but far from being essential. |
Exactly. _________________ Well black metal doesn't really go in that group... at all.... Black metal is all witches and warlocks and graveyards....

hahaha, if only that search engine would work a little better at digging up old relevant threads...

on topic, pretty much this for me too. though depending on my mood I have a real soft spot for the Drunemeton material too. in a close battle after these 3 would be carpathian wolves and thousand swords. really, there are too many eras of this band to accurately choose, but I definitely am not a fan of the viking era stuff after following the voice of blood. _________________ trade-want list/available list- http://www.nwnprod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=20339 |
