I still have a soft spot for this sort of DM. Takes me back to my youth and simpler times. Not that this is good in any real sense, but it was interesting to hear all the different vocalists take turns at the end.

Yeah I don't follow them too closely myself but I like the HM-2 chainsaw sound.

I wanted to check them out on tour but they had to cancel their tour a few months back

There's a good chance you've heard them, but I think bands like Under the Church, Bastard Priest, Tormented, Necrovation, early Tribulation, early Morbus Chron, etc, do the HM2 sound way better. Definitely worth checking them out.

Cool Thanks!
I like the old Stuff with Nihilist/Entombed Carnage/Dismember.
Of the ones you've mentioned I only heard Bastard Priest which I found ok.
I also think I head Tribulation as well but I think I didn't like them as much.

I like the Nails record released last year, I know some people may not be too into them

For anyone interested, this is an older vid with Kurt from Converge and Brian from Trap them demoing a variety of HM-2 pedals

Depending on what Tribulation stuff you heard, it might have been reallllly different than what I'm talking about. The first EP and album are just total insane old school stuff as compared to the more tame and increasingly progressive/not death metal later stuff.

Well worth revisiting Bastard Priest as well, amazing band.

And that is all you really need. This sound has been driven into the ground. Both of those bands you listed are the only ones I like in this style.

It's alright. Kinda lost interest in this band after seeing them live a few years back.

Now that you're talking about them, Serbian Bloodbath are apparently putting out a new shirt and a long-sleeve.

No idea if these legit or who's running the FB which published the announcement, i.e. if this merch is official or not.

Regarding HM-2 buzzsaw guitar sound worshipping bands, Binah's "Phobiate" will blow this never ending all-star snoozefest out of the water abso-FUCKIN'-lutely.

I've been a huge fan of Bloodbath since the beginning but lost all interest for them when Holmes and prevalent d-beat/crust came in.

Opus as their early efforts with a peak such the ep 'Unblessing the Purity' is a brutal example of how death metal must be manipulated nowadays.

(RIP)
