What is the general verdict on the latest epoch of Norrköping’s own mobile killing squad?

Gonna have to go with Serpent Sermon, the album is underrated in my opinion.

Went with ROM 5:12 just because I was listening to it earlier and the song "Accuser/Opposer".

. I agree. It's a great album. Better than Frontschwein.

My vote was for Wormwood. As much as I love Plague Angel, I think Wormwood was not a typical Marduk album and is brilliant. In no small part due to Mortuus

Gonna have to be the echo chamber and agree, Plague Angel followed by Rom 5:12. Easily Plague Angel though. Had the CD since release and hadn't listened to it in ages until recently I picked it up on vinyl a couple of weeks ago and can't stop spinning it since. Still a savage beast of an album after 14 years (!?).

Plague Angel is a grinding masterpiece, and I am eternally grateful that the band recorded Warschau before Emil Dragutinović made his exit from the Panzer IV. His drumming on that live album really captured the roaring thunder of Kursk in July 1943. Steeeeeel Inferno!

Rom 5:12 & Iron Dawn great. Never been a fan of Plague Angel & Wormwood, and never listened to what came after.

Warshau is a great live as well, their best live album for sure. Deathmarch is a decent complement.

I think Warshau is one of the best live albums ever released. I saw them on this tour (my first time seeing Marduk) and I think the live LP perfectly captures the atmosphere of that tour Mortuus was so much better back then live then he is now.

As for the albums I think Plague Angel showed great potential but I don't think they released anything that good after that. Everything from Wormwood on just sounds the same. I don't know Iron Dawn that well though but I think that one has more of a plague angel sound.

Frontschwein cause in 2015 re-opened the Marduk gates for me after 15 years. A bit for my deeply one-way involvement in death metal and a bit for a bad advice of a close friend that see the death of the band after the split from Fredrik Andersson and Legion.

Time to repair to these my bad and it's about 2-3 months that I listen to Mortuus era constantly. Close to Frontschwein is Plague Angel than followed by Serpent Sermon and Wormwood, but also Iron Dawn is a beast of an ep. Not in Rom 5:12, is about to unlistenable to my ears.

Soon will have the privilege to see this line-up fronted by Mortuus for the first time...this time its war!!!
