My old band The Gault might interest some. It was sort of a blend of the death rock mentioned in the OP with Finnish doom.

The Gault was fucking awesome, a pity that there has only been one record.

Thanks, I think we could have done a great followup if we had managed to keep it together. I looks like we may be recording this track for a future reissue of the first album:

Also check out Worm Ouroboros which is bassist of The Gault's current band. It is fairly different, but it still has a lot of those wonderful plodding bass lines and looming gloominosity.

This is what OZ-bassist Jay C. Blade does when Ape de Martini and Mark Ruffneck are not around:

It is actually his main band today, not OZ. Two years ago he was not present on OZ gigs because of commitments with Yö...

I don't know. He called me when he decided to fold his label, then disappeared. I'd like to get in touch with him to shoot the shit if someone has his contact.

Phil V Kusabs of Vassafor / Diocletian / Blasphemy, played with the cult NZ indie-pop band "The Chills", as session bass player for one tour, around 1998, I think. May seem odd, but I love this story!
