I hope none of my favorite distro's appear upon this list.

I think you should get off the internet and instead every time you want a record, you have to walk backwards the wrong way to where it was pressed and press yourself a copy (blindfolded), then walk sideways (the wrong way again) to where a member of the band lives and give him the money for the record. Repeat as necessary to get the money to the cover artists, logo designers, etc.

If that's too lazy for you, I spose you could do it barefoot?

EU results would be great. Yeah I like hunting for stuff and I do enjoy random distro finds, but when there's a specific album I'm after it just becomes a ball ache wading through all the blog download results that come up in Google

Is this thing broken for anyone else? I use TMD pretty regularly but recently it has just been returning me to the home input screen without bringing up any search results whenever I enter something...

The search function should be working for everyone now. Sorry for the inconvenience. It took some time to find the source of the problem. For some reason, gathering results from Forever Plagued Records suddenly began causing an error, so I removed them for now. I'll work on figuring out why that error cropped up and get them back on the site as soon as I can.

Working perfectly.

This site has been incredibly useful. It is perfect for comparing prices on imported items, as well as finding new distros.

Recently I searched for a couple items that had been long sold out, but I didn't want to purchase them on Discogs from Europe. Luckily The Metal Detektor found them used from Vault of Dried Bones, and I picked up two records for the price of one at the cost on discogs.

Although I understand how some may feel this kills the "thrill of the hunt," really there is no hunt anymore.

Online shopping is still online shopping. It's not like going to a record store, where everything is all in one place, hunting through distros can be tiresome, especially if you have a slow computer or do not know that many distros. I mean, how many people actually live in towns with record stores anymore?

I have one in my town of 170,000, and they mostly only stock Tom Waits vinyl and RSD releases.

Great site, I think the search is even faster now. I would definitely appreciate it if you could add War on Music's distro!

Thanks for sharing this! I'm always glad to hear when the site has come in handy for someone.

I have it on my list of distros to possibly add, but have yet to determine if it's compatible since the site redesign has taken priority over adding new distros. Unfortunately that's also being delayed, but all will happen eventually.

I made my own thing like this some years back, it would do a one-off (per distro) crawl&parse that I ran whenever I felt like it, and did a dozen or so distros. Results available offline because I had and still have no great internet access. I don't know if it ever really helped me buy anything but I enjoyed using it to see what came in and out of stock in various distros that I frequented. I had a sort of philosophical opposition to the idea of sharing it publicly though.

edit: ran "Blodfest - Lejres Fald" through just to see what the site did. Red Stream is selling the CD for $3.36 (and free shipping for Americans) ... you have no excuse if you don't own it already. This is a classic album.
