The guy who runs it is a friend of mine from Pennsylvania. If you ”like” the metal detektor on facebook, you can ask to add new distros and he will. Any distros missing is a result if him not knowing of them, or a webstore that is incompatible with his search engine.

Would not mind to develop a similar site for Europe along with other guy, if someone is interested drop me a pm. Didn't tried this one but assuming that distros rarely upload more than 1 time per day it could scrap all infos in the night and store it in his own BD to serve the info fast as a shark. Just sayin...

I wanted to do this from the beginning, but the various currencies, multiple languages, and just sheer number of distros presents some unique challenges. So, I decided to focus on improving what I have for now with the hopes of expanding in the future.

I'm sure the slowness is due to the fact that it's doing realtime searches for all the distros when you perform a search. It has to wait for 76 websites to return results.

You're absolutely correct. It can only return results as fast as the slowest distro. But, even at its slowest, I think it still beats manually going from distro to distro in search of that elusive album before it sells out.

Hey, Chad. Yeah, I still regularly discover new North American distros, but they aren't all set up in a way that can be searched. If anyone is looking to start a new distro or upgrade their existing online shop, I recommend Zen Cart, osCommerce, OpenCart, Big Cartel, or Storenvy.

Just do the UK for now, at least the language shouldn't be a problem Idea

What utter bullshit. A distro that doesn't want people to find their stuff in order to sell it to them should give up and find something else to do. When someone comes along and provides a free service that will potentially bring new customers to them they should be kissing their arse.

Why not then just put the word out about your uber-kvlt underground releases by writing the name of the band and record in Latin on a piece of toilet paper, stick it to the back of a fucking cat and let it run around into the night to find a potentially interested person.

If you are into kissing others' arses, then so be it, but that's not for me. There is reward to be had in putting time, effort, energy and research into your interests as opposed to everything being handed to you in one click. Ever hear of "thrill of the hunt"?

Ha ha ha, so manually looking at a few sites on the internet represents "putting time, effort, energy and research into your interests," in your opinion? Twenty clicks instead of one - that must be exhausting; what dedication you have!

Congrats though, as you have just redefined the bounds of human stupidity.
