Indeed one of the greatest albums ever made. I was hoping for something more to discuss though. 
There is something special about the atmosphere on this album. Never been able to express it but there's something unique. All the SOTLB rip off albums suck Jesus balls in comparsion.

Agreed. For people whose first record was Filosofem and discovered black metal in 1997.

Nothing's good enough for the Defenders of True Metal. Such individuals made "the scene" what it is and people need to get to fucking grips with this shit and stop posting absurd statements about such late to the game bands as Dissection...

Marcus has witnessed Black Sabbath playing live back in the early 70's and Iron Maiden playing in pubs, hence his opinion about anything metal-related is the absolute truth. If you're not into COF don't entry. |

Storm of the Light's Bane is not a "black metal" record, this is musicianship in its finest hour. I have no idea whether The Chasm like Dissection, but their style sounds very influenced by the way Dissection used to blend their different sounds together.
Especially for a guy like NK7, I think it's totally wrong to not appreciate this record, regardless whether you like it or not. You often complain about norsecore, well you don't like norsecore cos most bands were inspired by Transylvanian Hunger and not A Blaze In The Northern Sky. Preferred to scratch their guitars instead of writing soulful, inspired themes. Dissection is one of the bands who belong in this category imo.

I didn't say it's complete scheisse. But to call it "the greatest black metal record of all times" is juvenile nonsense that only people who got into the genre in the late '90ies or later can come up with. It's not even Dissection's finest moment, Reinkaos is.
*wait for "no that one sucks it sounds like In Flames" input*
