been listening to BM for 20 years now but never encountered such a "phenomenon" like this Sir N. dude who is responsible for all these ancient rex, mystery of death etc. releases when it comes to actual musicianship.
most of his stuff is so very good, yet so different when it comes to the sound of his bands (acerbitas, grifteskymfning, grav, hädanfärd, svartrit, helgedom, ...) .
what are your thoughts of his releases and, well, yes, his creative spawn in general? dozen of recorded albums in 5 years or so? strange ...
and no, I'm not WSinned90, haha! |

Black metal done the right way. Not exceptional, but still coherent and strong. Svartrit is my favorite, and Beketh Nexehmu and Balwezo Westijiz also sound interesting, but I haven't heard much from them.
Btw, is Ancient Records behind that untitled project which consists of a drum rehearsal/improv something? |

don't know who's done that musically but yes, its AR013 printed on tha back, so it's ancient records releasing it. |

| He and his bands remind me of the guys in Armagedda and what they did with their folk rock side projects and their pseudoynms, having titular prefix Sir and a name initial after it. Although I am positive that he is not related whatsoever. |

| Svartrit is certainly my favourite but that's probably because I only own the 4 Svartrit tapes and nothing else from Ancient Rec. When money and time allow it I shall certainly try and pick up anything that is left because the Svartrit material alone is worth seeking out more. |

Dodfodd is definitely my favorite I've heard. Svartrit is OK but nothing special, for me at least.

| Grifteskymfning is by far my favourite and most interesting. Some of the others I can't comment on yet as I am still waiting for 8 lps he 'forgot' to send me since paying in December... |

I was disappointed that the demo10 didn't have any vocals. |

| I think there's too many things getting released in quite short period for their/his own good. Even if they're all ok or even great, people have tendency to get bored with the huge flow of releases and find something new instead. But then again, if he's so productive, why to limit it. Personally I like Svartrit quite much. |

Don't make that mistake! I avoided it for the same reason until I heard it at a friend's house, and after hearing it I made him play the whole record again. Absolutely fantastic recording, really mesmerising and evokes a very archaic feeling, like reading by candlelight in an old stone-walled monastery.
The guy behind these projects has a fantastic knack for memorable melodies and captivating atmospheres; I think Beketh Nexehmu is my favourite, but not far ahead of Grifteskymfning's Djavulens Boning. Grav and Hadanfard are both excellent, Svartrit is very good, and the one album I've heard of Kaos Sacramentum was excellent, if a little derivative. |
