Good point. I was refering to their stuff from Grotesque Impalement on, I remember their demos were fairly consistent, and this sounds bloody good indeed. Gotta check more.

Serious now: Ok, we can argue that HH/CF is not really DM (already), or something like "Proto-Death/Black/Thrash Metal", if we go the revisionist way. This is an opinion I can accept to some degree. (I didn't include the HH-demos, they are 100% Black/Speed Metal to me)
But Possessed not DM? Seriously, they were WAY further into musical extremity than Slayer!!! No discussion here.
BTW: Am I the only one with posting problems? If I want to quote someone, it takes me back to the main-page. Pretty annoying.

Not really if taking in mind 'Reign in Blood'. But still I'd label songs like "Epidemic" or "Reborn" as death metal, so "Satan's curse", for instance, reeks of death as well.
