I had completely forgotten about that label. Last time I heard from them was the Gnaw Their Tongues 7" and the LP from years ago.

Im glad to be getting the ND box, but I have to object to the pricing on this. When you buy four lps in a box set, they are generally supposed to be less expensive than purchasing them separately. And the fact that its basically sold out in a matter of weeks just reinforces the reality that there was no need whatsoever to charge $80 for this box set. I respect the quality of most of the crypt releases i have bought, but I dont think labels should ever feel justified in gouging their customers simply because they know something is popular and there are suckers such as myself who will pay exorbitant prices. When you compare the prices of the recent Hadez box set that NWN did or the Witch Cross 4xLP set that HHR did, it is clear that there is an imbalance.

Ok well, I seem to have to go through this on a regular basis , but here goes. Let's rationalize the ND box set copared to NWN box sets shall we?

First and foremost, NWN releases are usually printed 1000 copies or more. Printing less than 1000 copies which I always do substantially raises the per unit price. This particular box includes 2 posters for each gatefold at $2 USD per poster x 666 copies x 2, so add that in. The box sets are hand numbered at the factory so there is another charge for that. Mastering costs and royalties are also figured in. I offer free shipping in the USA so you figure at least half of the copies are shipped retail in the USA so let's do the math. So roughly 333 copies at about $5 USD plus the cost of each box and packing material which I cover on my end. And for all the wholesale European drop shipments, there is a per unit fee that I absorb that is not added in the wholesale cost. So after all these costs, yes there is still some profit, but what do you think I use to pay manufacturing costs for future jobs? I still work a full time job to pay my bills so no Crypt money gets pocketed. Hopefully this will answer everything and but a stop to all the complaining about the prices. I feel you get a high quality product for your money and hopefully I've illustrated in this post where much of it goes.

^^

Shit, for 80 bucks INCLUDING shipping I would not be complaining - I'd be fuckin' CELEBRATING!!
Most places in Europe the ND box is about 90 USD and then comes shipping on top of that... I'm not complaining though - in fact I'll most likely still celebrate when it comes Very Happy

^^ Ted should never have to defend his product!! You get what you pay for and these are not mass produced and should hold there value ... I am glad I got the yellow.. apparently I was not the only person that thought they looked the coolest

thats what i thought too,but the last few orders i've placed from a few of the distros who do business through here have compounded shipping rather than combined. Its just made me support local distro guys more.

so effectively at 12.50 per lp this box set is nearly half price to what we pay normally from the us!

Nuclear Death is the sort of band that must be listened to on the worst format and audio equipment possible. The idea of a fancy, shiny version of their material is ridiculous...

Unfortunately it wont stop the complaining unless you breakdown the cost on your site item by item. And even then people are gonna complain. I appreciate the detail that you do and whenever I see these posts Im get worried you might tire of it and just re-issue plain jane records for less. I hope Im wrong about that as I really enjoy your releases. I dont buy all of them, but the ones I do are among my favorites in my collection.

For everyone else that has a problem....why? With Crypt releases you know you are getting a premium product. When I go get beer from the store I dont bitch that a 6pack of Alpha King costs twice as much as budweiser. Either I decide its worth the extra to get the extra or I bypass it.
