80 bucks is a lot no matter how you slice it. BUT...most people here have no problem laying down 18 or 20 bucks (at minimum) for a single regular edition record. Getting 4 records at an average of $20 each (postpaid in the US) in a limited super deluxe edition doesn't seem like a bad deal in that context. At least with The Crypt you know you're getting the highest quality, both in terms of the music and the packaging.

Personally I wouldn't mind if labels would stop making all these cookie box editions and regress just back to making normal black LP's without extra crap. Posters are complete waste of space (and money) as they come with virtually every LP these days.

Also why there has to be so much extra-material with the LP's? Like the live extra on Funeral (Nor) demo. Completely useless and is there just to make it as double LP. Sigh or Cianide vinyls could have all easily be without any demo or re-mix versions. And yes, the triple LP gatefolds suck! My Hail Horror Hail gatefold sleeve got torn on the back because it's so hard to handle without a table.

Speak for yourself. There are bare bones versions out there if that is what you want. Some of us like to have the extras for certain albums. Myself I passed on the Nuclear Death box cause Im not that big enough a fan. But I did get the Absu and NME boxes and thouroughly enjoy them and appreciate the detail within.

I am sold out of the limited silver splatter Timeghoul 2LP. I have one black vinyl version and less than 15 of the cosmic black vinyl (just added them today...last copies from The Crypt). If you want a copy get it now before they are gone.

Personally I don't mind the posters, I just slap them on my walls...actually I've ran out of room and I have a pile of about 12 posters on my desk, perhaps I'll put them on the ceiling. But it's true bonus material can be a waste, especially if it's just some crummy rehearsal or demo where you can't make out much and it sounds flat and lifeless, in particular I don't care for the bonus demo on the Depravity - Silence of the Centuries lp...

Yeah, the NME triple lp is very nice.

Does anyone have this yet?

Quote:
MISERY (Aus) A Necessary Evil + Bonus Tracks 2LP (CRYPT36)

The Crypt is proud to announce our partnering with long time Aussie Death Metal veterans MISERY to unleash for the first time on vinyl, their classic brutal 1993 debut album "A Necessary Evil" featuring the correct tracklisting. Also included as a bonus on this set will be the only track from the "Astern Diabolus" demo that was not included on the original CD - "Morbid Dreams", as well as the 1992 "Sorting of the Insects" demo tracks. Also, the original tracklisting which was mis-labelled on the original CD has now been corrected on the vinyl version.

Take a journey back in time as we present this masterpiece on 2 glorious 180 gram LPs (300 on blood red vinyl and 200 on classic black vinyl) presented in a 350 gram triple gatefold jacket with a UV gloss varnish, complete with original classic artwork, unpublished photos, new liner notes, and including a huge 24" x 36" poster of the cover artwork. Prepare for some of the best and sickest death metal ever to emerge from Down Under!!!"

Just got these three sets today and i must say they are truly amazin!! I'm more impressed with the Misery DLP!!

By the way is there a possibility that The Crypt will do their two latest albums, besides the ones already announced ?
