I consider this album pretty damn brilliant. I also really, really like Katharsis. Does this combination make me HIV+, gay, fag, gay-fag, fag-gay, ugly, fugly, pugly, pug fugly or even ugly ugly? Please help. Need answer fast. Thanks in advance.

You are like Rob Halford, a raging homosexual but we still respect your opinion.

I really like this album, but it lacks power compared to the first three. So, I guess I take the second option.

Hail Katharsis!

Back to the topic, I'll have to agree with the guy who ranks Born of Fire among the outstanding moments of the record. Brilliant song which they should play live more often. Other notable tunes would be Spirit in Black, Expendable Youth and Skeletons of Society. Hallowed Point is the only weak song on Seasons imo.

War Ensemble is my favorite track on the album.

Also, the second option should be ''Not really, only Show No Mercy/Hell Awaits and Reign in Blood for me" Cool

Title track is boring as fuck. War Ensemble, Born of Fire and Hallowed Point is actually the only tracks that are really good.

I do own it, but is it mandatory? Absolutely not!

I don't dislike it, but I don't consider it as important as the first 3.

War Ensemble is an essential track. The only great one besides that is Spirit in Black, the rest of the album is a big miss.

South of Heaven was the last great Slayer record.

Good album, but I would say it's not mandatory. There's some nostalgia attached to it for me as well but I consider it the worst of the first 5 albums. If I'm thinking mandatory Slayer I'm not even considering this album to be honest.

For sure the last time Slayer made anything decent.

I remember Slayer on The Clash of the Titans gig at Wembley Arena announcing they were making a video for War Ensemble and were going to play along to a backing track. People went beserk, booing etc. In the end they played it live again.

1991 seemed to be the death knell for all the big four bands. It was all downhill after that.

Big album then, big album now. As mainstream as you can make extreme metal without it sounding corny.

Going to chime in and say everything Slayer has done up to and including Divine Intervention is Great and worthy... but for me, only Show No Mercy and Hell Awaits are truly mandatory. To this day every single track on those albums rule. I can't say that for the others.

Excellent album, absolutely killer from start to finish...though I agree that Hallowed Point is weak. The title track is just dripping with atmosphere and is the perfect way to close the album.

Now, it's not as good as the first 4 albums...but then again, few albums any band released are as good as those 4.

Yeah, this. I do like Undisputed Attitude as well. Cover album or not but enjoyable versions to me.

True culties now say "Reign" is overrated and they were only good before Rick Rubin got a hold of them. Please hand over your NWN forum card; Yosuke's bird will give you a courtesy crap as you pass under his cage on the way out.
