I felt the same way when "Mantras" came out, and I passed on the most recent one for a good while because of it. The new 7" totally kicked my ass though and I ended up getting into the other new material as well because of it. Perhaps another listen will help.

I wouldn't mention Nargaroth because they never had a possibility to fuck anything up, they were fucked up from the beginning.

they definetly got back on track with Fear of the Dark, but to imagine Maiden in the 80s being so great and suddenly No Prayer for the Dying and that atrocious Holy Smoke video comes along like a slap in the face..
