I really enjoy Fear of the Dark as well, sure it's not their best and it does have a few fillers on it, but all in all I think it's a great album.

I was stoked when they played Afraid to Shoot Strangers on their recent tour (minus the blinding light flashing)

Never understood that Powerslave worship. Piece of Mind and first two are way better imo.

There should be an option for Di'Anno's records and one for Dickinson's, the sound of the band changed enormously after Paul was fired. If such a choice was given I'd pick Iron Maiden and then it would be a tie between TNotB and Seventh Son. All in all I think IM is their best effort as every track is a classic on that one, whereas there's at least one song on both Beast and SSoaSS that sounds less convincing (Gangland and Can I Play with Madness). If Total Eclipse had replaced Gangland as in the band's original intentions then TNotB would be 100% flawless.

revelations is my favorite iron maiden song.

too hard to pick an album though - the first two have less filler but there are better individual songs on piece of mind and powerslave.

Everything from S/T to fear is amazing, but I really enjoy the overproduced 80's sound on Somewhere in time more than others.

I love everything by them, I'm a fanboy, haha.

Piece of Mind got my vote, my all-time favorite album and my first heavy metal album. Quickly followed by the magnificent Seventh Son and Somewhere in Time.

I think No Prayer is really underrated, it's a brilliant album.

Killers. I prefer the Di'Anno era because of the punkish songs and sound. But up to and including Fear Of the Dark all albums are just fucking great. No Prayer is a bit weaker but still good. The Blaze Bayley albums are also quite good. After that I lost interest.
Fave songs are Murders In The Rue Morgue and Revelations.

Really, really hard choice.

I'd say Seventh Son since it was my first IM album. The rest are very close behind though (except No Prayer...)

Excellent poll, thanks Ragingwinter !
I voted for Iron Maiden first album because of band's musical concept and rough edgy production. I prefer Dickinson's vocal style but Dianno fits in early Maiden better. I lost interest in them since 7th Son and I hardly listen nowadays. My whole life revolved with them for a couple of years in mid 80's so they mean a lot to me.

Pretty ridiculous that The Number is scoring three votes. Also I'd like to know the identity of the queer who voted for No Prayer.

0 for Fear of the Dark is also suprising.
