After the 20 page thread about the latest Marduk album, and many opinions about which album is the best, it's time for a MARDUK poll.

*PS - I omitted the latest 3 albums, because the poll can only have 10 options. Rolling Eyes Confused So, if you think the best is one of those 3, just post the album name.

Anyway...

The best black metal discography ever in my opinion.

Voted for Dark Endless.

I prefer Panzer Division Marduk. It's like the Black Metal version of Malevolent Creation.

Heaven Shall Burn, Nightwing and Plague Angel are my faves. I voted for HSBWWAG because it was the first ever Black Metal CD I bought back in 1996. I could easily say that World Funeral is Marduk's worst album.

even though Heaven Shall Burn features the slightly-obnoxious chorus of 'darkness it shall be' - it still wins in my book.. maybe because of nostalgia.

after that its a tie between Opus Nocturne and Rom 5:12 - depends on mood I guess

Those of the Unlight for me.
Classic of the second bm wave, oldschool, raw sound and trademark for the classic Swedish bm ,with those melodies.Along with first two Dissection.

Their next albums become more ''clean'' sounded ,although some of the compositions are brilliant. For example Opus Nocturne.
Peter Tagtren plastic production ruined them.

Mortuus gave life and reborn them.

Opus Nocturne was produced by Dan Swanö, not by Peter Tägtgren. Just so you know...

Yes I know ,I meant after Heaven Shall Burn.

By the way,Swano's production ruined as well this brilliant record with the haunted atmosphere..

Nightwing by far.
Only Legion era is real.
pre-Legion: Very good songs but too weak sounds.
post-Legion: Not my kind of BM but the last one is very good.

I have to choose Panzer Division Marduk. Rom 5:12 is fantastic, as well. I don't have a history with Marduk and I wasn't really into them in the 90s, but I started working my way through their discography after seeing them live in 2008. I wonder what took me so long.
