From new style I only have Volcano, but like that one a lot. Don't like their early generic stuff.

Volcano's great, but there's no dilemma, Rebel Extravaganza.

My thoughts exactly.

Can't understand how anyone can prefer that jolly faggotry over this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QXKmxXojg1Y

Because if you think the latter is better than Hvite Krists Dod, you are a fucking moron. Makes sense that you don't understand much.

I'll take the Snorre-like riffing of the latter over the jolly folk-inspired riffing of Hvite Krist Død anytime. I simply don't like the style.

I really liked the last album but did not care much about the previous one. However some good sources who have heard excerpts of the next one gives it the thumbs up to me.

But any bastard with The Shadowthrone on vinyl for sale or even CONSIDERING selling it, get in touch. Me love you long time. Long time.

There's been a lot of talk about Snorre Ruch's involvement in Satyricon during this era of the band. Here's some of the information I was able to find:

Quote:
It's good it's a great news ! Your band has just two permanent members but you work with many musicians, can you reveal some names for the next album, a new line-up maybe ?

Naturally Satyricon is basicly one unit that works creating music; it's Satyr and me, in addition to that we have a live band and for Satyr and me it is a very hard organization, we had been in the band for many many years and other people really are members of the live band they are not some consolation musicians , they have the status of musician, we are a unit and we are seen as a unit when we travel. We have probally to make some changes on the live band after the touring for The age of Nero will be over. In all cases we used to invite musicians for the last album that we made and it's very possible that we have to do it again but we haven’t really decided who they might be or what we need from them, we will start to write and we will see what quid of people we like to include into the process and what quid of people have the skull that we are looking for. For The Age of Nero, Snorre Ruch from Thorns was there with us, acting like a populace in the process, he did (I think it's supposed to say "didn't") really write any musical material but it was an outside person for Satyricon, he search to testing music, where we wanted to go with the music and sometimes he could listen to what we had made and he could say, "try to make it like that" and we built up around it and we tried that and it was really very well, Snorre is a really powerful person, he helped us to write and create The Age of Nero. Possibly we will have to have some people like Snorre on the next album but it’s not something that we have decided yet, we have just to start working and see how things develop.

He's also credited in the booklet for guitars and arrangements.

From the danish Wiki:

Quote:
Størstedelen af albummet blev skrevet fra en skovhytte i samarbejde med Snorre Ruch fra Thorns.

It roughly translates to "Most of the album was written in collaboration with Snorre Ruch of Thorns.".

"Snorre Ruch getting familiar with the ESP RZK during the "The Age Of Nero" sessions"

Credits on Rebel E:

Quote:
Snorre
Real name: Snorre W. Ruch
Position: Guitars
Participation, years active: riff contribution on "Havoc Vulture", guitar contribution on "A Moment Of Clarity", "Filthgrinder" and "The Scorn Torrent" ("Rebel Extravaganza" 1999).

Jolly? Pfffff. Makes a lot of sense coming from someone who starts a "Best Cradle Of Filth Album" thread. Are you still in high school and happen to frequent the mall?

Especially The Shadowthrone. Dark Medieval Times is good but suffers from poor songwriting. I really don't care about anything else this band has done.

None. Okay, Rebel Extravaganza does nothing for me, but at least I can ignore it playing somewhere in the background. After that, ugh. For me, Satyricon is the single worst case of all the norwegian wimpouts, both musically and all the related stuff wise. I can't help but cringe at how low they've gone when I listen to a turd like K.I.N.G.

Agreed. It's obviously much better to listen to confused UG rehashed necrobullshit recorded on a 4-track like Veles than to a band which struggled to create their own sound in a proper studio with proper musicians who are actually capable of writing proper metal music.
