***Mayhem De Mysteriis LP question***

Since they have repressed DMDS vinyl a million times in a million different colors, does anyone have a recommendation which re-issue is good to get? The definitive version would be the Ancient Records, but it is way too expensive.

Sound wise, art wise, quality wise which one is the most decent to get?

I have the Ancient Records; yeah, it's vastly overpriced, but well worth the effort. The first pressing of DSP is ideal, but that's even more expensive. I had the Century Media version with the gay artwork and the sound wasn't bad.

If I had to recommend anything, save up and shell out for either the DSP or the AR version for the BEST quality overall. BoB sucks.

The BoB press has an ugly layout but it sounds fine to me.

Although I don't have it anymore the Ancient Darkness (wasn't the label called that?) version is the best I have come across and I have had most, if not all, official versions of that album.

So, spend a bit of money on this if this album means something to you. I just wish this version could be repressed, or at least the booklet. That would give fools like me the chance to get back on track.

I wouldn't go out of my way to get the ADP version. The sleeve is of a very low quality and so is the booklet. Nothing inside it that's unique either. All the pictures (which are all manipulated) and interviews can be found online.

I am very happy with my copy from Ancient Darkness. I had no idea it was worth that kind of money before I saw this thread and checked discogs. Looks like its highly overpriced, unfortunately.

Oh wow I just checked too. I got the ancient darkness version maybe 3 years ago for $50. No gz hate for this one yet? I think its the best version out there, shame the price has gone up so much.

Just picked up the CM record store day version. Haven't had a chance to spin it yet but it looks pretty good aside from being smashed by postal goons.
