Lately, I've been listening (and enjoying) Czech bands a lot. MASTER'S HAMMER, TORR, and ROOT... Among others. Are there any particular bands that I should be investigating? If there are any bands half as good as the aforementioned three, I'd love to know! Thanks in advance.

Check out the following:
early Arakain and early Debustrol. Very very good Thrash. First Debustrol is very Slayer-like, while Arakain had a fantastic vocalist.

Drakar - Let Draka LP (czech vocals version is by far better than the English version): Very sick stuff, bit like Tudor (another one to check out), but very mystique and, yeah, sick. Darkest Thrash Metal from that time.

Avenger: Best "newer" Black Metal band, with other influences, e.g. Doom.

Finding that stuff should keep you busy for a while Smile

Is the tape only release of Drakar's second album any good? I've only seen it once and it went for peanuts.

As mentioned above check out: Tudor, Arakain, Assessor, Drakar and Debustrol.

It's more Heavy/Rock. Not bad, but not comparable with the debut. Only some very few riffs are reminding on the debut.

Hmm thought so.

Agreed about the first album. Play that album while drinking some Gulden Draak beer and you'll be soaring in the clouds!

One of my fave Czech bands! I would say they also have quite deathly overtones (which makes them even better in my book), wouldn´t you agree?

You might be interested in an old split of Sorath (mixing Norwegian Black Metal with earlier Impaled Nazarene influences) and Unclean (slow doomy Black Metal, Samael-influenced I would say) - I am not sure where and who but it was mentioned here recently.
