I really enjoy how "Jord"'s ideas move with a longer stride -- it's more "progression" based than the riff-by-riff approach which defined the demo era thru Drengskapr. That being said, it is very different, and an unexpected style change to end the band's career on. Either way, what a strong discography. Definitely don't agree with the (really dumb) comment which states he's "eclipsed Arckanum" or whatever, but Panphage was a really solid continuation of the Kostogher/Fran Marder/Kampen sound.

Is Drengskapr vinyl available somewhere other than Bindrune? Good price there but the shipping kills me.

Also apologies if its been asked already but is there any significance behind that riff that appears on every single release(with slight variation)? I guess it's their equivalent of 'the Bolt Thrower riff'... suppose my favorite version of it is on Drengskapr but it sure makes the demo comp kind of annoying to listen to in one sitting.

I reckon the deep and obscure significance behind regurgitating the same riff is the ancient and occult art called lazy songwriting...

I doubt it, because it only appears once per release as listed. Seems intentional, rather than lazy.

Jord really is a great album. It was the first new release I listened to this year and I already feel like it's going to be in I'm my top 5 at the end of the year. Each song hits all the right spots for me and there isn't a song on the album I want to skip through. I even really enjoyed the outro.

I love those epic clean vocals on Skadinawjo, need more of those IMO! Though that's a moot point now...

For me it's all about Ursvöl and Ętt Loka. After those I would recommend Storm and the split with Žul. The rest is all worth hearing if you're a fan of these releases, but these four are the best of the discography in my opinion.

Best place to start with this band? I have tried to get into them a few times but nothing ever clicked.

Drengskapr all the way.Original underground brilliant epic BM.

Storm for me is not bad,but more typical/predictable BM.
Bit boring at times.

They ''established'' their sound, identity and personality with Drengskapr.
Split with Tul is on the same direction.

Thanks will check these out.

Checked out the new album and it's first Panpahge material that I really like after the first listen.

Off-topic, Aldrahn has a new project that's pretty good.

here's hoping they'll do some logo shirts when they finally put Storm on vinyl. just the logo in white on a black shirt would kill.

The last logo is pretty terrible. I wouldn't wear that! I think there should be a shirt with the demo era logo that had the old english type font. And no album covers either. I was Enthrone Darkness Triumphant for long enough once...
