I've won an auction for a pink floyd box set, but I am a bit worried that it's the cheap chinese replica. Obviously the seller only accepts bank transfers and has only 10 feedbacks (positive though).
Is there any way how I could get my money back in case it turns out to be the replica?

I think that if you do a direct bank to bank transfer then you're probably screwed. You might be better off using a company like Western Union or something, where you can transfer the money to their bank account but use your credit card. That way you could possibly go through your credit card company for a refund if you were ripped off. It's a lot harder than a PayPal claim though.

Not likely, I wouldn't risk it if he doesn't accept PayPal, 10 reviews can be from his friends.

There is absolutely no way to get your money back on a bank transfer unless the seller decides on his own to refund you. eBay can't make him do it.

If an eBay seller doesn't accept Paypal, 99.999% of the time they're a scam artist.

I couldn't find a pertinent thread for my concern, but I'll just go ahead and put it here; maybe someone can answer it.

Recently I sold a CD and told the guy to send me payment via "gift to friends/family" through PayPal:

Well he sent the payment but I can't tell if he sent it as gift. And there's no mention of a friend or family sending me money through the PayPal receipt. However, I did not get any PayPal fees taken out. So that's a good clue that he sent it as gift, but I just want to confirm through here if there is more info I should be looking for before I send him his item.

If no PayPal fees were removed he sent it as a gift...it's the only way that PayPal won't take their % out of your end.

Cool. Thanks for the reassurance.

I guess the no fees being taken out is the only indicator. I was expecting the PayPal subject line to say "your friend just sent you money," or something in that vein. So I just wasn't sure and didn't want the guy to be pulling a fast one.
