What an obscure band, but not without charm. Not indulged into the LP too much, though the demo and EP are great bits of work. The demo has the Hellenic sound, whilst the EP just wanders off into a realm of its own.

Some of my favourite tracks:

The Frozen Path of Timeless Wisdom and Trance - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c9Ype2ERVqk

Hidden Away from the Sun - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mms9i1lO27g

A Serpent Race - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ljsHMD0R4b4

Zephyrous has always held a lot of charm for me. I listened to their material a LOT in my teens. I have a penchant for the way they use bass, and their output is always a blast for me, no matter how long it has been between spins. Certainly not everyones' cup of tea ... but I personally think they are/were awesome.

I too wonder what happened to them. According to MA the members weren't in any other projects, asides from one who was in Bethor in the early 1990s. I wonder if anyone even knows, asides from the members themselves!

the demo is a personal favorite, but none of their material is without merit.

Wow, that LP is toxic. What the fuck? Why do so many bands take the route of completely changing the sound/approach that won them notice with a demo? At least have the decently to put out a couple solid releases before going all self-indulgent (as if they had millions in the bank).

I only have the EP on CD, and I haven't listened to the rest, but that one is great.

Big fan of the demo/album, pure magic.

In the early days I came across a few interviews with Zephyrous. They would always close out with "we all get the gods we deserve". Some years later I noticed the ISO666 website also used this slogan. I asked Leonadis if he was once a member of Zephyrous. He simply answered "no" without further explanation. He also disappeared soon after - and so the story goes.

that demo would make an excellent LP press!

their album on the other hand was gay in a way that only could have come from that awkward late 90s time period

I used to be in contact with Gerasimos "Serpent King" and he stopped being interested in black metal around 1997. I bought many classics from him at the time.

He started playing some Japanese flute and some uplifting tunes, he released a demo cd-r too. Last time I heard from him (around 2010), he was touring Greek islands and performing those tunes with one more guy in the streets.

Perfect demo/CD. Love them since back in the day. One of the most magic bands from that time. Oh Greece!

Gerasimos aka Serpent King has been transformed into a hippie guy since 1998-1999.Entrance and Caress are great samples of early hellenic black metal scene..
