Any fans here? I've been on a Virus kick for the last couple of weeks and the albums get better and better with each listen. Personally I like Virus much more than VBE.

I only have Agent but I like it. Quirky stuff. Though their drummer is very good I wish Czral could've played the drums. He's one of my favs.

I love the Agent, and I think it's better than Black Flux, though I'm sure many would disagree.

I have been a huge fan of VBE since the early days. I was excited when Virus first became active, but I must say that I could never relate to the material and/or glean anywhere near as much enjoyment from it. I must admit that I certainly haven't given it as much time/patience as it probably deserves. I will have to do so, and perhaps my feelings will change.
As of now ...
I enjoy the production and atmosphere of VBE much more. Perhaps it is the 'black' aspect that I am missing in Virus. The obscure aura, and overall mystery, of VBE is absent in the cleaner production and more straightforward approach of Virus to my ears. Virus sounds to me like a musical continuation of VBE, in general, sans the raw emotion and spectral power.
As mentioned earlier though, I now look forward to spending some time spinning Virus. Thanks for the thread/reminder.

Never really listened closely to Virus, but what I've heard I liked.
Funny this thread came up. A recordstore in my hometown has a second hand gatefold of Black flux for about 20,- that I spotted last saturday.
I've just decided to go back today, and if it's in good shape I'll snatch it, together with a Van Morrison lp I've had my eye on. Maybe make a deal...

It was way more expensive and the fucker wouldn't negotiate. I'm going back when the owner is there, he's someone I can talk to.

Good idea. I'd say it's worth the time to try and snag it from them... fantastic album.

This is a band that has done no wrong so far. Really creative and strong output... I'm hoping to see Oblivion Clock make it to vinyl sometime in the near future.

+1

The Black Flux is probably my favourite though. Oblivion clock has some great tracks too. I like the Scott Walker cover; totally fitting.

Give The Black Flux a listen. I can see what you mean about the raw emotion though, as Virus..is definitely more consistent and I guess drone-y in its atmosphere and emotion, but the Black flux, unsuprisingly has quite a "black" feeling to it.

As a huge Ved Buens Ende fan, I also adore Virus. Carheart is my favorite and a must album for middle night car driving sessions. Very Happy

Black Flux I did not liked too much but The Agent and Oblivion Clock are great releases. In conclusion, genius music all the way. Hopefully I'll see them live some day!
