They once returned my pack to the sender because the pack had "USA" written as opposed to "United States."

Maybe you have a good babel-fish translator or you understand some German. This is a thread in a HiFi-forum, where people describe their problems with several German postal services.

Hermes being by far the worst. Especially regarding trouble-shooting, regress of delivered but damaged goods and other insane stuff, like "lost" parcels...

I must say that many of the German sellers/traders (Not all, relax, not all of you) are not so good in packing, for some reason it seems to me that in Germany most people think that if you wrap lps with a newspaper, it is now hardened and bullet proof, so many times lately I got bended corners in a softcardboard boxes and ofcourse, wrapped in a newspaper, strange.

Yep. Newpaper doesn't do anything to protect the corners. They only provide wring wear protection to the outer jackets that would touch cardboard otherwise. I prefer that people put each LP plastic sleeves and double box using strong cardboard boxes with plenty of "buffer" zone around the edges and corners. Luckily the USPS provides free packing material that can be used for most LPs. It's easy enough to double box them if the parcel becomes too heavy for single box.

i've received orders from WTC and obscure abhorrence (under 1kg) in about 3-4 business days. all packages i've had that weigh in between 1kg-2kg seem to take longer.

The police busted some corrupt circles in the customs department in Southern Germany several days ago, maybe that also contributes to the delays?
