Let's hope they can ever match this bill again, because this was just a killer festival.

On friday the highlight was Interment. I was pleasantly surprised by Voids of vomit who I had never heard of before. Good gigs by Krypts and Ritualization. Destroyer 666 suffered from guitar problems and a so-so sound. And, let's face it, they're just not a tight liveband.

Saturday started with great gigs from Convulse (playing almost the entire World without god album, kudos!) and Disma. Cadaveric fumes was enjoyable but I'm not entirely convinced by their music. Only saw pieces of Temple of baal and Venenum.
Dead congregation had the worst sound of the festival and therefore wasn't the deadly force they were the two previous times I saw them. Antaeus surprised me in a good way (lots of old songs) and the pit looked violent. I'm not a mosher but the people who are had a field day I think. Proclamation is too extreme for me to get into.
Headliner was Demigod. Let's set the bar: they only played songs from The unholy domain and Slumber of sullen eyes. Let's raise the bar: their sound was brilliant (understatement!!!) where I was standing. Let's top it off: they played as tight as a virgin asshole. Too bad a lot of people had already left the venue, and that the remaining crowd was tired, because this gig was legendary in my opinion!

So overall mostly good to very good sound for the bands. Perfect placement of the two halls to you could easily switch between the two and see all bands. Never too crowded.
Only problem was the lack of beer taps (and on top of that: the lack of organisational skills from the bar crew). And that I paid €15 for my Disma LP on friday only to see it priced €10 on saturday night?

My respect for the organisation and bands for making this a memorable weekend!

Some guys were parked like 20m from my car and one of the window was smashed. The stone used was still on the driver's seat. Nothing was stolen. Maybe an "action" against metalheads??

For me the highlights were: Krypts, Deströyer 666, Cadaveric Fumes, Venenum.

Antaeus were good too, I would choose them over Aosoth any day. Hope to see them on stage again in Paris area.

The only flaw : the cancellation of Archgoat. Apart from that : killer fest !!!

I was surprised when MkM used the "ICI C'EST PARIS" gimmick to keep the crowd wild. I like this kind of communication with the public but I would never imagine such a band interacting that way, especially when most of the bands didn't communicate at all during the fest. But looks like the Parisian crowd was really eager to show its presence, I was really pleased Smile

Unfortunately I missed Temple of Baal (mandatory refueling). I heard mostly negative stuff about them. It's a shame, I really wanted to check them out again since I got mixed feelings from the two times I saw them live (blew my mind the first time at Nouveau Casino, bored me last year).

Everything was pretty good, only complaint is where the bar was located at the back of the small stage, everybody kept just going through the crowd to grab a beer and at times it felt like you were standing in the middle of a fucking highway.

were you the guy who asked back the 5 € to Randy of Disma? that was crazy. you sould realize they were just in need of money to cover the unbelievable costs of touring + trying to clear as much merch as possible in order to have less weight on the flighs. still, you must be crazy, Randy is 1.90 m X 140 kg looking like a back line football player (quote), not the guy i would mess with for 5 €.... Laughing

Yeah you usually get better deals at the end if there is merch left. These guys probably didn't want to haul it back. They had a pretty short tour as it was.

No, but I think I saw that scene when I was leaving the venue. Atleast there was some guy asking €5 back from the merch stand because they had also priced down the shirts.
Personally I found it slightly annoying but I would never ask a band back the money. They're on tour and €5 is peanuts. I still paid less than what I would pay by mailorder.

I think the guys in Disma are on average twice as big as me by the way. "American-size" band Wink

I also saw some dude try to haggle with a distro on the first day. "So if I take this and that, would you make me a price?" Just shut up, buy it or don't if you're not happy with the price.

Just back in Italy. Absolutelly killer festival!!! Total annihilation and not a single bad group (apart for a couple some bands, but only for personal tastes)..
DEMIGOD - absolutelly killer!!! great setlist and performance, the best way to close the fest. in random order my highlights: PROCLAMATION, DISMA, DEAD CONGREGATION, VOIDS OF VOMIT, CONVULSE, NECROBLOOD the previous named DEMIGOD...
prices inside the concert area were perfect and merch + stands were looted properly

Very good festival. I have been quite surprised to see how professional the whole organization was. Absolutely no delay, very good sound for most of the bands.

I missed a lot of bands the first day but i managed to catch the most interesting :

Interment had probably the best sound of the festival. I was simply amazed by the result. KILLER set. Just nothing bad to say.
Destroyer666 suffered from a muddled sound, especially at the beginning but then it got better after a few songs even if the band seemt not to be satisfied by it. It was a decent headliner, i just think i'm getting tired to see this band live.

Venenum was good but the whole show was not as good as the one they played in paris some months ago. a little disappointment then.
Temple of Baal was just killer, new songs perfect for live and a very good new second guitarist presence-wise.
Dead congregation was very powerful and the guys still have a precise playing. The sound was really good from where i was (upstairs).
Antaeus was very good too even if i started being seriously tired at that moment, i didn't stay for the whole show. i'm still impressed by BST headbangings...
Proclamation: as shitty as always, this band was just the perfect moment to get a drink and a cigarette.
Demigod: i was not there anymore.

Some drunk Pole tried that on the first day. It didn't meet with success.

Did not get to see many bands, but from what I saw, KRYPTS was fantastic, cloudy and ominous sound onstage, good presence, crushing tunes. CONVULSE was as tight as a couple days before, good performance. DEAD CONGREGATION was total war, constant buldgeoning. The new song is very promising indeed, pity the bass swallowed most of the guitars impact during their set. ANTAEUS was laughable, and that's about it.

Queuing for beer or a piss was quite annoying, but apart from that and the lack of foresight from the people at la Clef, it was pretty tightly run and a good week-end overall. Many thanks for the kindness and professionalism of the WT staff.

2 new songs they played. the first one was total annihilating death metal assault...the second one, I have to listen again because it's ok but structured on a more slow tempo. BTW DC one of the best concerts of the weekend!!! VOMITCHRIST!
