Also looking forward to: STRIFE, ALTERCATION (1987), BREAKDOWN (1987)

No fucking interest. Judge meant a lot to me as a kid and I still love all of their records, but fuck old guys getting up on stage and pantomiming like they still give a shit about any of it. Hardcore's direct, no frills lyrical approach needs youthful sincerity to not make it embarrassing. Doubly true for straightedge hardcore. You have to have that adolescent ability to blow shit way out of proportion to convincingly yell about not liking liquor for a set or an album.

A couple of friends of mine have flown out for this. I'd care more about Crown of Thornz, Breakdown, and Black Train Jack than Judge though!

A lot of reunions can be embarrassing, but give them a chance before you write them off. There are bands that have reunited and are still great, like Negative Approach.

After seeing The Cro-Mags in 2001 or whenever and Agnostic Front around the same time I would be totally sceptical of NYHC reunions because those were fucking AWFUL. However I hope it is great and you have a great time!

Yep. Saw them when they played Copenhagen in '07. Went fucking bananas when they delved into a Project X cover. Good times.

I go to the BNB Bowl every year.
JUDGE was one of those "not gonna happen" bands, even Mike Judge himself said a year ago "NO"....but he changed his mind...we all do it.
I just hope his voice sounds cool, that's all I care about. I know the rest of the band will be fine as they never stopped making music. But Mike stopped singing in the early 90's.

When CRUMBSUCKERS did their reunion show in 2006 I was thinking there was no was Chris Notaro could sound like that and I was dead wrong, he was awesome!

Ditto for John Brannon and NEGATIVE APPROACH.

I will give a full review after the show.

Good point on Negative Approach. Their second wind has been really good.

I've always been skeptical of hardcore reunions (skipped the YOT reunion in '99 and all of them since) and the Chain Of Strength gig at the Rev showcase and all of the bullshit surrounding it mostly just confirmed and intensified that prejudice. Leathery real estate agents playing rockstar for a weekend for kids who would rather fetishize the past than stake their proper claim to hardcore by reinventing it.
