At War With Satan.

Off course Black Metal & Welcome To Hell are essential records but basically they are just rock n roll - with attitude though.

But with At War... and its title track Venom announced the real darkness to come and lit the black fire which would set ablaze Norway and the rest of the world some years later.

All of those are old favorites but I've gotta go with At War With Satan, the title track is epic.

Welcome to Hell. Was the first one i heard, has the filthiest production and features some of their best songs.

I remember when At War came out and it wasn't that much of a grabber the whole side for one song was too much, side two saved that album and the singles and Ep's saved the band, that is some of their best shit.

Hard to choose, but At War with Satan triumphs.

Welcome to Hell, but just slightly over Black Metal.

Welcome to Hell wins it for me. I love Black Metal and the other two Venom albums, but I don't listen to those nearly as much as their classic debut album. I love that punky aggression, and I can remember putting "In League with Satan" on repeat in my high school years.

Black Metal for me. I think the At War With Satan (preview) is the perfect length. Very concise and one of their best tracks.

welcome to hell easily. it was in fact one of my very first extreme metal albums, I still remember playing it (along with in the nightside eclipse) on my discman on a class trip in 8th grade. and it has aged MUCH better than black metal imo. welcome to hell doesn't have a single filler or boring song, whereas black metal has teacher's pet and sacrifice.

also, it has the greatest venom song ever (witching hour). easy win.

Oh, and I consider Venom a black metal band. To be more specific, the first wave of the genre. Not every black metal band has to be Norsecore fagstreet. Laughing
