I listened to half of the song and stopped, not that it was incredibly bad or anything, just because I didn't really feel like caring about it, and came back to paused Razor CD. Kind of sad I guess when even the originators of heavy metal returning doesn't get my dick up.

I enjoyed the first riff and the riff behind the bass solo at the end. Overall pretty boring and useless. I'd give it a 4/10. Like somebody else said, 95% of doom metal is better. I'd take ORCHID over this any day!

Agreed, Annick. Black Sabbath need to hang it up and enjoy their much earned retirement. They're already one of the two most important metal bands that will ever exist, along with Priest. This is just old fogies shoring up their retirement plans, as far as I'm concerned anyways. Even the bass solo stuff at the end is really lame for Geezer, the best bass player who ever lived barely bothering to honk out some scales. Ugh...

Let Orchid put out some new Black Sabbath albums for us instead! Very Happy

I predict the new Magic Circle record will be the best Black Sabbath record of 2013. Laughing

Again that song sounds pretty boring and average. So far both songs sound like they have all had their parts written separately and then in the studio have tried to make them into songs (sure a bit of conjencture on my part) but they do not sound natural in the same way say the new Satan record does which clearly sounds like 5 friends enjoying making music together.

It was excruciating to sit through Capricorn by Orchid, like literally just an hour of nothing but a bunch of stolen Sabbath riffs. Some of the complaints about the lack of anything going on are completely understandable, even though there is a patently monstrous Sabbath groove in the second half of the song. Not that it can be argued with anyone that thinks hipster third tier vest metal shit like Orchid is good.

The second half of the song had absolutely nothing to do with the first. It totally obliterated whatever mood/atmosphere the first half might have been trying to create. A good example of a Sabbath song written in a similar format which actually worked: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qHrZP_C38r4

God Is Dead just sounds phoned in to me.
