My fave's probably Sign of the Hammer, but I am tempted to pick Triumph of Steel cos it's so damn underrated (Shankle is the most technically skilled guitarist they ever had imho).

The last couple of albums didn't do much for me unfortunately, but they're still amazing live, at least when they don't fuck things up. I believe they need Ross back, I don't know if you guys have listened to his first solo album, but the songwriting is miles better than anything Manowar has done in the past 20 years or so.

Ross is soon releasing first album with his new band Death Dealer. Features also Rhino on drums. There's some samples online and it's pretty vicious metal.

They were good once upon a time. And kudos to Joey for getting to my current girlfriend before I met her.

Fighting is great, but they do have better albums (Triumph is better as a whole, even with the odd 30 minute track). My prob with New Metal Leader had to do with the vocals, not that I expected someone with Adam's abilities (no one can match that after all), but still they didn't do the songs justice at all.

Into Glory ride is the only album worth anything by them, maybe the first half of Hail to England as well. The band other than that is complete horseshit, Razor have more metalness in one song than Manowar has in their entire homosexual career

Outstanding track. I think their best song on that album's Mountains though.

It's obviously their most radio-friendly album but that isn't a bad thing as far as I'm concerned, especially when you have amazing songs like Defender, Blow Your Speakers, Black Wind etc. No shit, whoever dislikes Manowar is a queer, period. OTHER BANDS PLAY, MANOWAR KILL!

Interesting. It's the only Boss-era album I haven't listened to properly.

Anyone who has some cool Mano-trivia to share?

I voted for Kings of Metal. Great album.

Bonus points for containing "Hail and Kill," the song that pretty much set the lyrical template for NSBM: allusions to Norse mythology, hacky right-Nietzscheanism, "the hammer of hate is our faith," etc.
