Don't think about it. Shit festival from morons for morons. Even if there are bands you'd like to see: everything there will destroy the enjoyment of the show for you.

Been there in 2001 and 2012...its not bad, but it has become too big for its how sake, thus attracting the mass of stupid german "metalheads" present at events such as Wacken, etc. But other than that, you will sure meet some friends and see some good gigs.

So it's basically mini-Wacken? I stayed away from Wacken all my life just because of all that shit, but it seems I'll attend Party San next year. As mentioned, they always have some good bands playing.

It's exactly what you're talking about. Just a bunch of typical "metalbrothers" and partypeople. Furthermore there are some Antifaguys on the entrance watching and checking your vest/jacket, so that there are no political incorrect bands on it. But than, on the festivalground, you can buy most of these. And stuff which is forbidden the one year, is allowed the next year or even playing. Everything fine for the typical german, metalhead, i'd say. There are better festivals over here like Deathkult and Hells Pleasure.
And since there is the Deathkult, a handfull of bands, which played there, will be playing Party.San the following year because the fat dickheads of RockHard Mag. and so on Very Happy

Edit: Just enter "Party.San" on Youtube...

Been there a few times, IŽd agree with with Alastor R. more than with SdE75.

By now it turned relatively big which takes away from the overall atmosphere and it attracts more mongo metalheads, yet it still isnŽt in retardo-Wacken-country.

IŽd go this year but had to cancel it.

Best bands are on the tent (underground) stage nevertheless, too much mainstrem boredom on the mainstage.

Not the premier festival for constantly frowning evil elitists - take your pick. Wink

Went in 2007 when Asphyx played their first reunion show (I think). Had a killer time; great line-up, great food and great stalls.

The line-ups have good progressively more populist, it's fair to say.

Is it true that for example Horna is on the ban list? Funny if so.

In 2007 Taake was banned from the Pary.San for being Nazis - and 2011 Taake played at Party.San

Watain played 2006 at Party.San with an Absurd shirt and made the Hitlergruß on the stage - and they played 2010 and 2011 again at Party.San.

Sargeist was banned from Party.San 2012 for making no statement that they are no Nazis....

And on the other hand the audience is getting controlled if they wear any NSBM shirts or patches.

So the whole Antifa-attitude of the Party.San is a big joke

Shatraug commented the PartySan cancellation on one recent interview...

Quote:
We had the same experience with Sargeist when Party San Open Air was asking our German tour promoter to book us for a gig and who else would cause our cancellation than Bolt Thrower who seem to be over-allergic to any black metal claiming it fascist right off. The funny part is that Party San actually went and said we refused to give any statement about their questions but the whole festival never contacted us at all!
