Dawn of the black hearts. The side with dead, anyway. The maniac side is shit. The production for the dead side fits perfect for mayhem. Truly "necro" sounding.

It's not Maniac singing, it's Messiah. Classic error.

I don't think Maniac ever did a gig with them in the early days.

Was already said: Sodom - Mortal Way Of Life.

Unearthly distorted base guitar, a drum sound which blows away each and every shitty deathcore drum trigger band and to top it all with cream the very unique early Angelripper vocals. The tracklist is awesome as well but they could've played more from Obsessed by Cruelty.

exodus - another lesson in violence

Could be good but the too modern Andy Sneap production really kills the feeling.

Also Randy Rhoads Tribute. Never understood what is good on it. Surely immortal songs all the way but the whole album has sounded to me like some bad audience recording and not a real live album.

All the best has been pretty much mentioned. Except...

Halford - Live Insurrection
- Very heavy and Rob still sounding marvellous!

S.O.D. - Live in Budokan
- Intense and hilarious at the same time.

Candlemass - Live
- Not maybe the most essential or mandatory but still very good live album from the golden times of the band.

Iron Maiden - Beast Over Hammersmith
- Have to say that I prefer this to the more well known Maiden lives. Of course a live album from '82 is totally mandatory.

You hardly can go wrong with any of the following:

The Who – Live At Leeds
Deep Purple – Made In Japan
Motorhead – No Sleep Til Hammersmith
Judas Priest – Unleashed In The East
Rush – All The World’s A Stage
Procol Harum – Live In Concert With The Edmonton Symphony Orchestra
Kiss – Alive
(though i heard it was recorded in the studio)
