|
|
When I was a teen and living in rural New England, i played tapes in the car while driving. I was began to seriously get into music back when CDs were just becoming 'the shit', so my formative years were spent kinda lusting after CDs and feeling kinda like my tapes were second class citizens. Not the case anymore.
Anyways, I've lived in New York City for nearly ten years and don't own a car so my cassettes only get played at home in the living room. What kind of cassette decks are y'all using? |

the 302s do look quite nice. you're digging the dual cassette style? i guess i've only thought about playing stuff back, not about doing tape-to-tape recording.

MARANTZ SD 60
3 Head, Dual Capstan, Dolby B, C and HXPro.
Same construction as Revox.
Got one for $50 in EX condition.
Sober classy early 90's design, my fav perdiod.
Aaargh what a beauty.
HARMAN KARDON TC 470 is awesome too, same as 420 but with 3 head. Very rare though but the best design there is along with NAD 6200.
Nakamichi is the shit but too expensive.
Now is the time to buy KILLER tape decks for jackshit on Craigslist and such.
$500-$600 tape decks for fucking $50.

Technics RS-AZ6.
Includes Dolby B, C and HXPro.
MPX Filter
3-Head
Only downside is single capstan.
However, this cost me 40GBP including shipping, and can still sell for anything up to it's original RRP of about 200GBP when it was released.
Mint condition too.
Also for SALE, if anyone in the UK wants to make an offer? |
