Crass did put alot of thought and creativity into their song writing

Are you sarcastic? CRASS is some of the worst crap I've ever listened to, in The Feeding Of The Five Thousand which I got at some point. I mean, it's worse than the worst RAC. Seriously, the singer just speaks his political talk above background noise. I don't see where's the creativity here. Maybe in the artwork but surely not in the songwriting on this record.

That's quite the overstatement since most people that listen to punk but don't generally like Crass tend to make an exemption to their first album. Sure, the vocals are louder in the mix in that record, but the music isn't just random noise without direction.

Feeding and Stations are probably the easiest releases to listen to, but they're still pretty much as Xeniteia described...almost like spoken word marches with very little in the way of riffs.

Man, if you want something really goddamn irritiating Penis Envy takes the cake. That screeching fucking voice...hoo man.

I've gotten into some of the '70s prog rock that Svart has put out, namely Tasavallan Presidenti and Kalevala.

I've been listening to a lot of Dire Straits lately. I don't feel bad about it.
