Apparently this CD is now out on drakkar. Really savage compilation of Vlad Tepes material.

Recluse did a cover of "In holocaust to the natural darkness" that is included on the CD.

The cover is absolutely sinister! I'll definitely get a copy of this.

From what I can understand:

Tracks 1-4 & 8 taken from the split with Torgeist (track 8 was meant for a compilation back then that never materialized).
Track 5 - Project Szačmdre (also known as Chaos).
Track 6 - Session with Vordb on drums and vocals.
Track 7 - Project Vladre (also known as Projet Cannibale).
Track 9 - Chris Brokaw cover.
Track 10 - Arkha Sva cover.
Track 11-16 - Black Legions Metal demo.
Track 17 - Infernal Necromancy cover.
Track 18 - Emvandre črkl Včrhzléyavbtre (old ambient project).
Track 19 - Recluse cover.
Track 20 - Chris Brokaw cover.

I can't believe they put those Chris Brokaw covers on there. Even though, they do rule.

The Chris Brokaw coVers are awesome.

Ravens hike is apparently based musically on an old poem I assume by that name

I think the name and tune was taken from some old French folk song about a man who dreamed of his own death... Pretty sure whatever the actual story is can be read in the liner notes of one of the remastered CDs. At work, so I can't verify that right now. Either way, its funny as I still can't help but hear the "Saints Go Marching In..." when I listen to it. Laughing

Anyways, am I wrong to assume Hooded in Oil will be carrying copies of this too?

If this CD includes covers by other bands, then it's a kind of half-tribute compilation.

yep the acoustic version of the Celtic Disciple is awesome!

as much as I dig Recluse, ther wasn't much room for improvement for In Holocaust to Natural Darkness.

This is worth getting for the VT covers of Mutilation, Belketre etc alone with good sound quality.

So does this include all of the extra stuff added on the remaster CDs?

No, it has some purely VT material and some material from various hard-to-find side projects as well as the covers.

Honestly, I think it's pretty shit to re-release all that material then re-release it again a year later with remastering and bonus material. Then again, it is Drakkar we're talking about.
