We all know a lot of bands tend to release one or two great albums and then go to shit. But what are some bands that have stayed consistent? What bands have more good albums than bad ones?

Some bands that come to mind:

Inquisition
Mortuary Drape
Bolt Thrower
Immolation
Asphyx
Morbid Angel
Incantation
The Chasm

Everything up to and including Gateways is good/great. Only the last two albums have been mediocre/shit. 7:2 is a pretty good ratio if you ask me.

Not overall consistent in quality, but surely at least 4 times in a row 10/10:

Black Sabbath (first six + Dio-albums for some)
Iron Maiden (80ies)
Bathory (first six & "Blood on Ice")
Darkthrone (first 4 BM-albums + "Soulside Journey" for some)
Mercyful Fate & King Diamond (everything up to ca. 1995)

Yeah, but think about to have two fantastic releases which are both killer from the first to the last second, than have x albums each with 2,3 good songs and 5,6 lalala-let's-skip-this-song songs so you have to combine all the good songs from all albums on one LP tp have a good record.

But to make you happy, you can change both with Luror and Pseudogod.
I also think about Dead Congregation, but maybe they have not enoug releases to make you happy. Very Happy Razz

Yes, Arghoslent and Branikald of course too.

And as I already said elsewhere: Cirith Ungol! Flawless discography IMHO.

Debatable: Slayer, Graveland.

I wanted to put Slayer but left out as I thought instantly that I don't really care much about their discography after Undisputed Attitude.

Graveland has a few not so great albums after Immortal Pride...

Running Wild
Satan

Branikald- seriously???- I have about 6 cds and they pretty much never get listened to, so, so average when compared to Forest, Vargleide, or even Raven Dark discographies.
