Can anyone comment on the quality of the Sisters of Mercy - Some Girls Wander By Mistake 4xLP box? I've heard a good chunk of it was sourced from a not-so-good needledop?

I have not bought this yet.
I’d like to know as well.

Question for Red Lorry Yellow Lorry fans, which CD comp which you recommend between these?:

See the Fire - first and second album + B-sides/singles and BBC sessions
Albums And Singles 1982-1989 - first 4 albums and all singles but looks like no BBC sessions

For close to the same price you could probably get the original singles and EP's.

I'd say the BBC sessions are pretty disposable, really.

The Cherry Red RLYL CDs are variable in quality, though. The early RLYL master tapes seem to have 'disappeared' after Red Rhino went bust, so some of this stuff has been mastered from vinyl (not very well in some cases - the Skeletal Family CDs on Cherry Red also suffer from this variable quality).

The later RLYL albums are a bit more Noise Rock, a bit less Goth. The title track of 'Nothing Wrong' is a killer, though. But their first two albums are their best and Gothiest, if that's what you prefer.

Just discovered For Against, because I think some stuff was reissued just listening to their first album loving it so far.

Thanks for the info, the first presses are pretty cheap anyway so I'll just track those down eventually.

This is excellent. Thanks for the heads up. I'll probably order both LPs.

The new Ritual Howls is out now as well-
