Yeah, maybe a newbie question but since the sound on Youtube and rips sucks and because there are rerelease available at normal price, I wonder if the second and third albums of the band worth getting.

Lighting to the Nations has some excellent tracks like the title track, but some filler too. The bonus tracks on the extended CD version (the one with the white outer sleeve) aren't any special addition too.

Thanks in advance for any useful advice!

Borrowed Time is pretty good in my opinion so I'd say it's worth getting. Can't say the same about Canterbury, avoid it.

I can't think of one second of filler on Lightning to the Nations.

All the bonus tracks are awesome too!!

Hum, thanks!

Well, track like "Sucking my Love" has too much bad Hard rock vibe IMO.

What I like with NWOBHM is that the old Rock/HR tricks are gone and that the songs are just riffs and power.

Only on the surface. There is something twisted and scary about this song.

Not a huge fan of the rest, but LttN is pretty much perfect.

If you don't like Sucking My Love, you probably won't like Borrowed Time, and you definitely won't like Canterbury.

Sounds like you should maybe just listen to Metallica?

Well, IRON MAIDEN, JAGUAR, etc, don't use all these tricks. Be they epic or electric! Cool

I only know Power Games and the Axe Crazy EP when it comes to JAGUAR.

The tricks aren't always that bad but when they come to lame soft-rock or unending drum beats, etc, I tend to throw it away fast. "Sucking my Love" has some good parts but the main riff and vocal lines are too soft rock for me.

I just like some songs on Lightning... a lot and simply hoped they did something as least as good as Screaming and Bleeding was to ANGEL WITCH.

Thanks for the further advice, too!

Lightning to the Nations rules! The bonus tracks too.

There is a 3 disc box of their post Lightning stuff. And it's really cheap: http://www.amazon.co.uk/MCA-Years-Diamond-Head/dp/B002BW5WFI/ref=sr_1_6?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1375911917&sr=1-6&keywords=diamond+head

I don't own it myself, coz the few songs I've heard from that period seem to be a little poppy for my taste. There are, however, sessions/concerts recorded for the BBC included, and I'm a bit of a sucker for shit like that, so who knows, maybe I'll buy it some day!
