Still don't know the reason why Don Doty left-kicked out.

Great news but I'm doubtful they still have the violence and the energy spread out in the '80-'90

I read he was kicked out due to drug use.

the last time he didn't join them because of work commitments. Never heard he had a drug problem!?

He was a meth addict.

Really? Never heard that before! Fuckin shitty if its true

Here's what Jim had to say about a reunion some years back

There was indeed quite some interest a couple of years ago but it's not gonna happen. DARK ANGEL is my name, my songs and I say to reform now would be a joke. Some of the other guys don't even listen to metal anymore. I won't do it and I won't allow anyone to make a joke out of it. At this point, DARK ANGEL is dead and gone

The potential is still there for a good album. I hope at least as long as they don't go the way of 99% of their peers in the genre which means: hyper produced digital production, overloud double bass, and shitty groove/chug riffs ala Exodus, Nu-Agent Steel, and Testament. The guys were 1st rate musicians in the eighties, and it would be fucking sad to see them tank on any prospective new material

I dunno, Durkin wrote most of their classics so without him fuck knows what it'd sound like. They half recorded the follow up to TDNH so maybe they'd work off that. Wasn't a great fan of TDNH or Leave Scars either so personally I hope they just leave it to a few shows.

I just happened to be on a DA kick recently. TDNH is a beast of an album.

I've seen that album get trashed in reviews, but it's my favorite by them. The vocals take some getting used to but those fucking riffs, man...

This. I know Darkness Descends is a classic, and a great album don't get me wrong, but Time Does Not fucking Heal. Like you say, THE RIFFS.

Going to listen to Dark Angel at work tonight. I'd be into seeing Dark Angel live. Even if they are all old balls now.

This will be interesting...

what a circus this is turning out to be....

The lack of responsibility that Don Doty is displaying by posting false information and unfounded rumors is creating confusion for DARK ANGEL fans. There is no 'Team Don Doty' or 'Team Ron Rinehart.' There is ONLY DARK ANGEL. We will not be a part of anything that damages this band and its reputation.

To my Brother in Arms Ron Rinehart You know that you are always welcome to come up and sing a couple of songs. You have DA blood in your veins just like the rest of us.

Ok , Now for some fun Ron sang We have Arrived and Darkness Descends. I would like to know from the fans and also you Ron, should I sing off of Scares and Time.. Please Leave comments below. Cheers, Don

That'd be great and not really out of the realm of possibility. Hoglan isn't involved in any worthwhile projects, and all of the guitarists in Dark Angel are in only studio active bands. I hope this actually happens, I'd love to see that happen

Keep It True performance is now cancelled...

http://www.keep-it-true.de/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=35&Itemid=65&lang=en

Quote:
Hello Friends,

there have been many turbulences around the DARK ANGEL reunion and their show at KEEP IT TRUE lately. Right now it looks like there are two separate sections with on the one hand Don Doty and Eric Meyer and on the other hand Gene Hoglan and Jim Durkin, who fight each other with almost daily statements about who is the real DARK ANGEL. We watched this quietly for some days and hoped that all will be sorted out, but it seems there is no satisfying solution for everyone. KEEP IT TRUE stands for many years for honesty and credibility and we fear that these actions around the DARK ANGEL reunion can put damage on the good name of the festival. So we decided that NO version of Dark Angel will play on Keep It True 2014. We do not want to be in the middle of a fight where there is no end in sight. I hope you all understand our decision, we know some of you will be disappointed, but this is the only way for us. We will now look for a different Saturday headliner.

I'd still see them with Ron, but this online drama is pathetic to watch.
