Fashion...lil rich kids discoving old school death metal...same prices goes for Demigod debut CD and some other early swedish/finish death metal bands...good, bad or trendy? Trendy, no doubt.
But, at least they are discovering some decent bands...but yeah, those eGay prices are way beyond stupidity...when the next trend start you will find those same cd's in logical prices...I mean, I look at some of those discs in my collection really wondering if they are worth 3 of them around US $1,000...nah, they're not...good or great music yes, but not really worthy that much money...

What the hell is it with people going on about 'rich kids' and ebay all the time. It's simply a case of demand far outstripping supply.

There's a lot of stuff out there that could do with a reissue. Where do you start?

I like this MCD though. A discog reissue would be good but how many copies would sell? It only takes a few people for items to reach insane prices on ebay and I can't see this being a huge seller. I know that there are probably 1000 copies out there but the vast majority of old metal fans won't know it has any value and wouldn't be interesting in putting stuff they've had for 15 years on ebay unless they thought they would make a good amount so supply is limited to the very few copies that do make it to ebay.

I really can't see a reissue of this selling too well.

It's a matter of the same old, people for the most part need to be told what they like. Now that Black Metal is an old hat, people go back fifteen years and think the shit that sucked then is now interesting because it's 'classic'. Just the motions of weak-willed consumers. Look at all the shitty Slayer/Metallica ripoffs that were garbage in the 80s are now considered 'classic', give me a break, I don't buy it. This whole recent untalented Death Metal revival shit really rubs me the wrong way. Instead of sounding like shitty Norway clones, bands exchanged it for sounding like shitty Incantation/Autopsy clones, just as sad in my book.

But since they don't use corpse-paint and instead jean jackets full of patches, they are considered serious.
