If you thought this is about music, you're wrong. Computer games, bro.
It seems the second Amnesia game will be out on september 10th, pre-ordering started 16th august.

Screenshots and trailer: aamfp.com

I don't know how many of you played Amnesia: The Dark Descent, but I definitely recommend it. Survival horror in a Prussian castle (but with aesthetics from different ages and locations), a decent amount of gore and occultism, Lovecraft-inspired, some creepy steampunk too, you can even use the game's physics to inverse every cross you see and throw bibles around. The dlc, Amnesia: Justine, is faster-paced than the atmospheric original.

The developers also made a similar trilogy, Penumbra, based in a more modern setting (mines and underground research bases). But I haven't played those yet.

Also, "The Four Horsemen" mod for the original will be available soon as well. http://www.moddb.com/mods/the-four-horsemen

Seriously guys, Amnesia is like the pc game version of a black/death metal album. Just look at it

Amazing game with a dark, suffocating, evil atmosphere! Can't wait for the sequel. I too would eagerly recommend this to anyone who has a penchant for morbid/horror/occult themes and the like; even to those who don't enjoy video games as this falls into an entirely different category in my opinion (more of an experience...).

Glad to see someone else here enjoys this stuff though! Hopefully this thread is allowed to stick around for a bit, I'm interested to see what others think...

I've played a bit of the first one of the Penumbra series and while I did enjoy the atmosphere and whatnot my patience was cut short by how frustratingly unfinished the interaction and physics system felt. Perhaps I was just spoiled because I played Amensia first, but it may still be worth checking out while you wait for MFP to be released as I think they can be had for pretty cheap from a lot of places. This is definitely the really rough demo era of our black/death "band" where they hadn't quite found their sound yet, but maybe that will appeal to some here... Laughing

Pre-purchased. I also played Amnesia: Dark Descent before trying Penumbra (black plague). I was totally hooked into Amnesia and although Penumbra was released earlier and has different kind of enviroment I also liked that one, which yet remains uncompleted though. I highly recommend the both series to everyone into horror themes and puzzle/survival games. Can't wait to play AMFP!

Yes, first Amnesia was one of the best horror experience yet. A Machine For Pigs has been delayed so much already, I was happy to see it available for preorder on Steam last night. Just few weeks away, cant wait!

Penumbra is really great too, highly recommended to play if you enjoyed Amnesia. Pretty much the same style of game with different setting.

It seems youtuber Pewdiepie was allowed to play a demo of the game, publicity stunt I guess. Not much new to see, except the more steampunkish aesthetic of this game and a very fast closer look at a new enemy (I hope this one has more variety than TDD).

Although I hate that kind of videos now I really can't wait of playing this. Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiittttttttttttttttttt. I propably have to preorder Outlast too and play it the five days before AMFP is out. What a "coincidence" for Steam to make them both available about at the same time.

Fuck. I have to go back to school already the 2th of september, so I'll lack time to play the game. Outlast looks awesome too, maybe a bit too developed for my ordinary laptop to handle.

Dumb that most people seem to ignore this thread. horror games are like the pinnacle of horror (except being really chased by a murderer or something), it mixes its various forms into one. Metal music really should focus on it more than all those silly RPGs and high fantasy.

Will it be also available for Xbox or is it just for PC?

So far, Frictional Games has released all its games on pc. I don't think console versions would work well; part of the atmosphere is in just you sitting really close to the screen and keyboard, creating some kind of tunnel vision.

What a pity. On the other, if parts of the atmosphere got lost on a console version, it's better to leave it only as an PC game.
The posted pictures remind me of Dead Space, especially the first one.
I bought my laptop in 2011, so I am not sure I this game works on it. Confused
But it would be great to play that game.

I suggest you test first Amnesia on your laptop and after it hopefully works, go for AMFP. It's not too hardware junkie. And probably not even worth mentioning but yeah, gameplay has nothing to do with deadspace.

I'll try it out. The videos on youtube are pretty cool.
Yeah, I know Dead Space is something different. I just compared the atmosphere. Wink
Anyway, thanks a lot!

A:AMFP has been out of few days now. Any players? I started playing yesterday and I must say the graphics look great, the sudden noises are creepy as hell too. Too bad not everything is interactive anymore, like in the original. Currently I'm only in the beginning of the factory, but I think the lessened interactivity might spoil some puzzles later in the game by to easily revealing what to do. Also, I suspect I'm awfully close to my first encounter with (one of) the monsters and it's making really really nervous. I feel like a teen in a slasher movie.
