In Terra Profugus, released 16 september via Code666, is a concept album by the Icelandic black metal band Carpe Noctem about an ethereal journey within and without the self, exploring concepts of life, death and the nature of evil. It is about overcoming and reaching understanding through strife and hardship, about self-flagellation of the soul. The album title calls upon Cainís journey into the wasteland of Nod, the self-made exile from Godís creation. Imagery from nature and light references to Nordic myth permeate the text, which is both vivid and esoteric in description.

Recorded and produced by Ńrni Bergur ZoŽga. Mixed & mastered by Riccardo Pasini. Artwork by Antti Salminen.

Tracklist:
III. Odium Somniferum
II. Ars Moriendi
I. VITRIOL
II. Metamorphoses Maleficarum
III. Hostis Humani Generis

Any plans for vinyl? This sounds absolutely fucking killer. Iceland has been producing some good black metal lately.

THIS THREAD IS ABOUT CARPE NOCTEM NOT TORONTO

I know there are reputable bands here, but none of them besides Into Oblivion, Geimhre, and maybe a couple others are the kind of shit I'd put on with any regularity. Apologies for the digression.
