Probably first BM compilation in Poland, done by guy, who later take pseudonym Capricornus (Graveland, Infernum etc albo Into The Pentagram zine back in the time). No idea if this is official in any way (I mean - if all bands give him permission / got some copies), but for sure Xantotol got copies when it was released.

Tape/photo belongs to Venom of Xantotol (who is still in BM underground if anyone cares).

so what really happened to Capricornus? On one story I heard he became a total heroin junkie crack-head, the other story is he became a college professor in Russia, yet another story was he got busted by
Polish authorities for some NS related activities which is why he kept all the money from his distro at the time (without sending any packages to his customers). I had some brief contact with him in the late 90's and he seemed like an okay guy, just wondering what really happened.

AFAIK, there're no colleges in Western sense of the word in Russia. What you might be talking about should better be called "higher education professor". I highly doubt that's the case with Capricornus anyway, and googling for Russian spelling of his name ("Мацей Дамбровский" if I'm correct) brings up nothing relevant.

Btw, his metal-archives page now indeed says he quit BM due to drugs.

It strikes me as reasonably 'official' as he acknowledges many of the people involved there, suggesting he had contact with them. Pretty cool to see nonetheless, don't recognize a few of the bands on there. Its tricky to find any info of it on the net, google doesn't return much.

As for what happened to him I also heard a fair few times that it was something with the authorities. I was halfway through a massive trade with him at that precise time actually, but luckily he disappeared off the face of the earth before I sent my half out to him.

Most of those bands were pretty active in the fanzine/compilation circuit. I just don't know who ETAH is?

I had heard that Capricornus was studying some type of paediatrics at University, so one wonders what could have occurred. Is it really anyone's business though? He left "the scene", and appears to possibly maintain contact with a few people, and doesn't wish to spread this further.

Do we have the shallow phenomenon of "Black Metal Icons" now? Sounds almost like a bad documentary of "Whatever Happened to...?".

What next - should we start looking for Zephyrous as well?

This compilation is more likely dating back to 1992, as most of the demo tracks featured (at least : Nordor, Emperor, Denial Of God, Twilight, Ancient rites, Graveland, Apollyon) were not released (even not recorded for some) in 1991.

Very Happy Honestly would be more interesting to hear some stories about Zephyrous than this Capricorn guy.

ETAH were from Denmark, a side-project of Apollyon if my memory serves me right.

ETAH was Danish yes. With Worros and Jonas Breum as far as I am informed.

Indeed, Carpicornus moved to Russia and is a professor at a seminary, studying his obedients National-Socialism and Black Metal.
