Warning of Danger is one of the strongest 2nd one and will leave alot mid 80ies Debuts behind.

Edit:
would add Cirith Ungol and Brocas Helm to Manilla Road and Omen.

Manilla Road and Cirith Ungol are the best in epic metal, along with the Kings of Metal, Manowar.
Although I like Omen,it's impossible for me to compare them with the mighty Manilla R. and Cirith Ungol.
And yes Brocas Helm is one of the best Epic Heavy Metal albums EVER!
I had an argument with a friend who claimed that 'Black Death' was better than 'Into Battle''.NO Way!

I agree in all points except for Manowar. i never liked them.
Yeah, -Into Battle- is the most underrated 1984 album.
luckily my friend gave to me their BlackDeath just for a random CD from my collection. it's unpayable i guess!

Exactly! unfortunately Brocas Helm are so underrated! We're speaking about the definition of heavy metal!I've been listened so many times 'Into Battle' with the music, the lyrics..it's heavy metal magic.
And Manilla Road..Sadly,recently there is a 'revival' of their music with all those reissues from High Roller.Otherwise, they may had the status of many obscure epic bands from 80s.
About Manowar..You are into (real) heavy metal and you don't like them?It seems to me odd and cannot understand it..But this is another discussion..

BROCAS HELM are great and seriously underrated but I fail to see why CIRITH UNGOL would be greater than them, or greater than OMEN by the way.

I fail to see too why OMEN or JAG PANZER, among others, are less good than the two aforementioned bands, too. They do play Metal differently but they still delivered top class HM full of power.

THIS IN 100 % Exclamation

mhmm, may i didn't like them because they are obvious too much (real) Heavy Metal with the 1st eye for me and too much show in the focus of the 1st eye??

i wished Brocas Helm would get a bit of more attention for their stuff.
while Manowar has no problem to give some to them Wink
yes B.H. lyrics are the best for me too.

I can sort of understand if Manowar are off putting to some. Over the top ultra masculine oiled up fur crotch muscle metal is the extreme contrast to the more humble fantasy nerd approach of M.Road/C.Ungol/B.Helm...I love both, though.

For Omen, Battle Cry surely has the most/only hits for me...

Does anyone know how to edit a poll?

Anyway, what's the deal with this epic/70's inspired HM. It's great of course, but limiting HM to that is another kind of revisionism, like all these Doom lovers that rewrite Metal history to their own tastes.

I know you German and Greek people like this kind of HM a lot, but I'd take OMEN over CIRITH UNGOL any day.

Omen can't be compared wtih Cirith Ungol and Manilla Road in my book. Those two bands are up there with Sabbath in terms of uniqueness and greatness.

Finally mention of Brocas Helm. Fuck yeah.

Omen - Battle Cry edges over Warning of Danger, but only by a little bit. Less cheese riffing and the drums sound better on Battle Cry.

I'm lukewarm as fuck about Manowar. I like Into Glory Ride and Blood of the Kings like everyone else I guess...maybe I should be grateful these albums do not feature boys' choirs, bad keyboards, spoken word intros by spooky ladies, or metal clanking on every song.
