exactly what i think, but i didn't like ugra karma at all. thought it was boring. tol cormpt norz norz norz was pretty mindblowing when it came out. i bought it for 2.99 in the budget bin with a bunch of other JL America cutouts in '94.

They somehow became uninteresting around the time when the singer moved to Belgium and his brother left the band. Their image also turned via S/M, with silly live perfomances and stuff.

Just kind of curious what makes Ugra-Karma boring? When I listen to it, I hear pure fucking aggression.

it's aggressive, but the songs seem a little too simple and cookie cutter . . . the first one has a crazy edge with all the sound effects and stuff like that. ugra is more straight-ahead, but that's what i actually don't like about it. could have used some drum fills or something!

Everything up to SFP is gold. First album's my favourite. Pure filth!

Thats right but then on SFP you could hear that they're going to change direction with their next album. So the first two rule as cult, while I like the songs on SFP the best.

That's not really true. Kimmo was the main songwriter when he was in the band. After SFP they were supposed to record an EP* but it never got done because of a fight and he left the band. Latex Cult sounds different because Mika and others had to write everything for it.

* -Some of the material was used by Kimmo on the Isänmaa project.

Ok. That I didn't know. Still SFP does sound different from the first two efforts. Whoever was in charge back then.

Probably the most important BM band in my early teens. Being from Finland and living in Sweden made me worship SFP. And it's still the best IN album, because, listen to the bass solo in Let's Fucking Die. Best thing ever!

The first three are amazing, I haven't listened to Latex Cult and Rapture enough to have an opinion on them but Nihil is underrated as hell. But that's no longer early IN of course.

Everything after Nihil are "hit and miss" some great songs here and there but not a single solid album that I can think of. Should really revisit Latex Cult and Rapture though.

I only like the first. Ugra Karma is a record I play every now and again and think it's great, but after a few spins it goes back on the shelf.

The debut was definitely more bestial and satanic. Ugra Karma is the equivalent of a panzer tank. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vn3dvR-XIaU most hateful song ever!

I was pretty disappointed with TCNNN when it came out since most of the songs already appeared on the second demo and the 7". The songs are great but I always prefered listening to the demo and 7" versions whcih weren't that much different either.
