VULTUR is really an overlooked band, they are one of the very few southern bands that still sound "mediterranean" and "occult". They also have an interesting concept about their (Sardinian) pre-christian pagan myths and folklore, they even sing in their native language (very different from italian) on many songs. Also, the guy behind the band is a real metal maniac.

This is pretty cool, thanks.

I've been listening to that BMIA Signum Martis compilation a lot recently...anyone know anything about the band Gladio who have a track on there? They don't appear to have released anything else, and no other band info on MA or Discogs. The track is sheer brilliance though...the vocals are crazed.

Album is in the works. For what I know it should be out this year.
But they are known to be extreeeemely slow, so might be delayed.
Hope to be wrong, of course.

Excellent news. I hope they'll reissue From Dead Temples, a nice DLP containing both tracks from the 7" is what I've been waiting for a long time.

Can definitely second Nazgul for epic / symphonic black and Beatrik for depressive burzum style black, both favorites of mine.

I skimmed through this old thread and noticed that Lamentu was not mentioned. I think this stuff was super awesome, very unique. Not many bands draw on traditional voodoo for influence in the black metal world...

Also, I'll second Jewish Juice...great stuff, silly name.

"Intra Naos" has been delayed a number of times. From the last contact I had with Calus, I gather that they are nearing recording, finally, and were rehearsing heavily with this in mind. I sent some material for possible inclusion (intros/outros/interludes) a few months back, so time will tell. I personally don't think that they'll use the material, but we've also had a split 12" planned since 2003, and that's no closer to materializing either. The plans that I've been provided for "Intra Naos" are pretty amazing, but really dependent on a label to support on such an astute endeavour.

Thanks for the info! Well, if "Intra Naos" will match up to its predecessor once itīs finally recorded and released itīll be worth the wait. "From Dead Temples" might very well be the best Black Metal album post 2000.

I came across them via YouTube suggestions while going through other links posted in this thread. The concept and voodoo elements themselves are definitely cool, but the riffs weren't grabbing me...

I enjoy them quite a bit, as I said before, but it's definitely something I've got to be in the right mood for.

Yea, if you look for a Gorgoroth clone without any substance.
Don't get me wrong but bands like that should be burnt perpetually if you think that people like Fabban later converted to Christianity.

Yea.. very "evil".
