Definitely not a rip-off.But my last order arrived with a big delay and I pay VAT.My payment was with bank transfer.I haven't seen any distro to charge his customers VAT..That's the reason I'm not going to order from there again.
Too bad because their catalogue is always interesting.

After speaking with Steffen it appears that someone did indeed steal all of the vinyl out of the box and replace it with random art books for weight. Really fucking insane and it was nearly a $700 order. I do not hold out hope for any sort of recovery, but if anyone has experience with a DHL claim please post your story.

Do you believe it??? I wonder how many people had same experience.

I doubt he would rip someone off this way.

It is more believable that a postal worker would risk stealing $700 worth of vinyl than the risk of single records here and there randomly multiple times.

With the opportunity and a major haul of $700 worth of material, it seems more than likely someone would risk their job for than vs. stealing a parcel here and there simply with only a single or two records in it... a small package is not worth the risk, but a large one perhaps from a recognizeable metal distro to a metal working metalhead may be too much a temptation etc etc.

I agree it is highly doubtful the label would pull this scam, people willing to purchase $700 of merch would more than likely do so again... repeat customers when running a business is a good thing... especially when they are willing to spend a lot.

Just my thoughts on it Wink

might ask the label owner if he possibly can try to get a refund for you from DHL. If it was not a premium service, which is insured up to 500€, the refund will depend on the weight of the package. Better than nothing!

5 kg 74,11 EUR
10 kg 96,17 EUR
20 kg 147,08 EUR
31,5 kg 205,63 EUR

If one wants to do it, one will find a way.

I work with a guy who used to have a night job, moving parcels around. taking one away would be "easy", no matter what size it is.

I'd suggest to tell DHL you'll get the police involved, this smells like a scam going on.

Every Customer has to pay VAT always. Maybe the prices in his catalog are net not gross. If you order from a different country, you may have to pay twice.

I had to pay €116,- euro's import tax over a trade parcel from the US, with 116 CD's in it..

I can really notice our national government is in need of money as I nearly pay import tax over every single parcel coming from outside the EU nowadays..

In the past it used to be 1 out of 20 maybe.. Rolling Eyes

Never had any problems with NO COLOURS.

However, mail service in Texas has gone to shit since 2009. Don't use USPS.

That's insane. To me it sounds more like NC (goods) being targeted than thievery. A normal person wouldn't have any idea how to get rid of Graveland LPs etc. much less want to sneak them out of work.

One thing I do know is that he is terribly when it comes to making good packages! The few orders I made always ended damaged in one way or another. Heard the same from all people that I know ordered from him.

It's the first distro I've seen doing that.Nowhere in Europe distros charge VAT fees from my experience.Paypal fees, bank transfer fees yes.VAT never. It's a bit...I won't use the word..

I think you always pay VAT, but most distros already include it on the price of the item...but i might be wrong....
