The Stargate is actually really cool. Probably my favourite. I have listened to The Smell of Rain. It has some enjoyable goofy tunes, hilarious that it reeks of Antichrist Superstar or the Downward Spiral, but hey... those were actually really decent albums too for a period of time.

The Stargate though is actually still enjoyable though.

Ånden Som Gjorde Opprør was my favorite for the longest time. The Stargate is really growing on me though. Great stuff.

The Dungeon Days, as in the four first records, are obviously flawless.
Can't get enough. Dark, epic, immense.

Some good songs on "The Stargate" as well.

If I had to pick, I'd probably go for "Ånden Som Gjorde Opprør".

-

The selftitled and only Fata Morgana-record from 1995 is also brilliant,
worth every penny for those of you who haven't heard it. Mortiis' best side-project.

It is good and underrated for sure.....but not as good as Vond.

Vond is definitely brilliant on the Selvmord-record, but The Dark River and Green Eyed Demon doesn't do much, for me at least.

I never checked out Stargate before this thread but I'm really glad I did. It has the same girl who sang on COF tracks? I actually kind of like her voice...

I know that feeling bro

Would have voted for "The Song of a Long Forgotten Ghost" btw

For BM fans the first 4 would be enjoyable i guess. Second and third are the strongest;the albums may sound monotone on first listen but there is something about them that makes it click. The atmosphere? Excellent as background music for reading or just for relaxing for an hour.

When the Stargate came out i was so disappointed. The cover of Mortiis flying around, attached to some cables looked ridiculous compared with the previous artworks. I feared the worst. And lo and behold, the music sucked too. I can't remember exactly where but i've seen him live in Belgium once. Might have been the black easter festival. It was a gothic/Elektro/neo-folk concert/festival anyway. Some stage props, scantily clad damsels (Maybe harlots is a better word? Smile ) I remember being focused on his glued on nose for some time as it seemed to let loose on one side. Haha.
