I'm not normally one to own multiple copies of certain releases, and I seem to have 3 copies of 'Black Metal' which are all different.

1. The original Neat version with Lyric sheet and A3 poster. This also has the embossed Black Metal logo in black. Well it's a reverse embossing I guess as it goes inwards, rather than outwards like 'Seven Churches'

2. The standard Neat version.

3. The Combat version with the bonus tracks.

Never got the Earmark reissue, though I did get Welcome and at War on this pressing as they are really killer. Shame the covers are just scans, but the stock etc is nice despite the fact they could have done loads more with these releases...

Who else is obsessive about this release?

I'm more into Welcome to hell , which I find more obscure . I have two version of this one :

Neat records and Bernett records . I have also the Bernett version of Black metal .

I've heard about a crazy Canadian who is known as one of the biggest Venom vinyl collector , maybe you could see his collection list ...

Yeah Welcome To hell is a totally killer album. I think these and the first side of 'At War...' is venom at their finest. I find the B side of At War a little disposable, and though some of the Assault MLPs are cool, most Venom stuff beyond the first 2.5 records falls into the who cares factor.

The best thing is the "Die Hard" sessions. This is Venom at their best!

The first three albums are best. I found Cast In Stone to be an fairly good reunion album, Metal Black on the other hand was total shit
